Just What I Needed

I was dead in my spirit -In my flesh I was dying 

You spoke- I just couldn’t hear it-Even thought I was trying

Didn’t know what I didn’t know -Or that sin is a cancer 

Cut it out or let it grow -And there’s only one answer 

You were just what I needed -But I was running from you 

If you had not interceded -I don’t know what I would do 

You sought me and drew me-From a horrible fate 

You spoke a Word to me -A new life to create 

You are just what I needed

A savior and friend

You’re just what I needed

You’re true to the end

Now as then in the past

Jesus, on you my needs I cast

You were just what I needed -Though I hadn’t a clue 

Till I heard and I heeded-Your call to follow you 

I need you every hour-Like I needed you then

In my weakness, your power For now unto the end
