Seeking refuge in isolation.
I come apart in lamentation.
With a burden that seems too much to bear
Seeking for a place to cast my cares
There’s a darkness I cannot describe
And a prevalent unholy vibe
Where without knowing you must go
And you truly know that you don’t know
I will trust in the God who walks on water
I will trust in the God who raised the dead
I will trust in the God who died and rose again
For by his life my soul is fed.
There is one who stands in the gap
There’s a way that won’t show on your map
How to tread the path of wakefulness
This is the way of the wilderness
No comforts there in the shadow of death
It will surely take away your breath
You can curl up like Elijah
Or flee to the shelter of his wings-He’ll hide ya
I will trust in the God who walks on water
I will trust in the God who raised the dead
I will trust in the God who died and rose again
For by his life my soul is fed.
This is the home the heart desires
Where its better than a chariot of fire
No promise that your chariot will fly
There’s a better way to live and die
Where without knowing you must go
And you truly know that you don’t know
In Christ alone-in his embrace
He’ll not let you go no matter what you face
I will trust in the God who walks on water
I will trust in the God who raised the dead
I will trust in the God who died and rose again
For by his life my soul is fed.
