Nail My Glory

Now, for Christs sake I bear his name,
What was my gain I count my loss;
My former pride I call my shame,
And nail my glory to his cross.
Yes, and I must and will esteem
All things but loss for Jesus' sake:
O may my soul be found in him,
And of his righteousness partake!

Oh the surpassing cost which I could never afford
Oh the surpassing worth of knowing Christ my Lord
What once was gain I count as loss
And nail my glory to the cross.

My righteousness is filthy rags
My finest works are dung
I count them all as rubbish,
these things to which I've clung
All shrivel up like a leaf,
And profit turns to loss
If Jesus Christ shall be my gain
There is no final cost

Bridge:
His glory in me he will convey
Treasure placed in a jar of clay

Oh the surpassing cost which I could never afford
Oh the surpassing worth of knowing Christ my Lord
What once was gain I count as loss
And nail my glory to the cross.
