The Final Feast

There’s a longing in the soul
That  the Lord alone must fill
He comes and lifts the load
Of the sins he has revealed
Then gladness and gratitude
He infuses  by his grace-
With His very presence in our hearts
The void with hope he will replace

So we delight ourselves in the Lord
And we see our joy increased
As we gaze upon His beauty
We’re moved beyond mere duty
To sup at the soul’s final feast.

At the end of all our days
At the end of our times
The heart longs for God
This our purpose defines
The unspeakable joy
Of knowing His ways
That we might dwell with Him
For our eternal days

Bridge:
With thanksgiving we would enter His gates
Lifting  praises yet unheard
We wait for the Lord, our souls wait,
As we put our hope in His Word

So we delight ourselves in the Lord
And we see our joy increased
As we gaze on His beauty
We’re moved beyond mere duty
To sup at the soul’s final feast.

And joy will be ever increased
As we sup at the soul’s final feast.
This will be glory so complete
In God's presence at His feet.
