Somewhere Down the Road

Somewhere down the road all will be made clear
Somewhere down the road we will understand
'Cause I don't know what the future holds
But I know who holds it in His hands

We may set our goals,  make our plans and set our dates
Some things on the journey you just cannot anticipate
Some surprises can derail us and leave us at a loss
And some towers need to be built where you just can't count the cost

And high anxiety, it  can become a style of life
Where normal don't seem normal if it don't include some strife
But through many dangers, toils, and snares we've already come
God's grace has led us safe thus far and grace will lead us home

Somewhere down the road all will be made clear
Somewhere down the road we will understand
'Cause I don't know what the future holds
But I know who holds it in His hands

The devil's got his detours, the world has it's dead ends
The closest distance is a straight line but you know, that just depends
You may have the stop and drop and roll in the most peculiar place
'Cause the accident between the points may hold the greatest grace

Somewhere down the road all will be made clear
Somewhere down the road we will understand
'Cause I don't know what the future holds
But I know who holds it in His hands

Bridge
They say life is a tapestry and we live on its underside
And till it's finished and turned over its meaning it still hides
Some say it's a burden and we all carry a heavy load
Till we lay it down somewhere down the road
Others say that its a river  and we're just along for the ride
We will make it all the better if we have a trusted guide
Else it becomes a process where we kick against the goad
Till we reach our destinations somewhere down the road

Somewhere down the road all will be made clear
Somewhere down the road we will understand
'Cause I don't know what the future holds
But I know who holds it in His hands
Somewhere down the road all will be made clear
Somewhere down the road we will understand
Cause I don't know what the future holds
But I know who holds it in His hands
