A Journey Long

I am a pilgrim, I am a stranger

Travelling to an unseen home above

In this strange land I have known danger

But then again, and again I have known love

I am an alien on a long quest

To be set apart is my pursuit

Though I get weary I am so blessed

partaking of that righteous root

I am on a journey long

As I walk it’s with a song

If I go right. I’ll not go wrong

Travelling on this journey long

I’m a sojourner on a pilgrim way

Traveling through this desperate land

The path gets narrower by the day

But I’m upheld by God’s right hand.

I will grow weary if I wander

Off of God’s appointed course

If I set might sights over yonder

It leads me on to heaven’s source

I am on a journey long

As I walk it’s with a song

If I go right. I’ll not go wrong

Travelling on this journey long

So I will tread his path of peace

For I know I am never alone

This wayfaring will not cease

Till I stand before heaven’s throne

With the Eyes of the Heart

We fix our gaze on the unseen

Where mercy finds its start

We live with a new vision

By the eyes of the heart

We look at these unseen things

Though we only see in part

We see what is revealed

Through the eyes of the heart

When we become world weary

When the storms would tear us apart

We need to go on seeing

With the eyes of the heart

The world beyond our senses

Objective truth imparts

So we now can see reality

With the eyes of the heart

The light of the knowledge of glory

There we find in Jesus face

Apprehending there God’s shekina

Lost in wonder at His grace

So let light shine out of darkness

Shining in our innermost part

See the eternal weight of glory

With the eyes of the heart

We walk by faith and not by sight

Redeemed and set apart

And so we now see clearly

With the eyes of the heart

Gather the Scattered

 

We were told to go forth and multiply

To fill and subdue all the earth

Lord, gather the scattered whose holy heartcry

Is to proclaim their scatterer’s worth

As we declare good news of new birth

Gather the scattered- the sheep of your fold

Bring us to shelter in you.

Gather the scattered- bring us out of the cold

Keep us like you said you would do

Restore our souls and make us new

 

Gather the scattered who’ve been sent out

To have others feed on our fruit

Though scattered and battered and sometimes in doubt

You have grafted us into your root

Now holiness is our pursuit

 

You have scattered your seed o’er the earth

And improved this world’s fallow ground

We bloom where were planted- we are the new birth

Bearing fruit wherever we’re found

Even when we’re abased we abound

 

Gather the scattered when comes harvest time

Separate wheat from the chaff

Gather the branches of the living vine

Who have sojourned the pilgrim path

Save us from the final wrath

Gather the scattered who’ve been sent out

To have others feed on our fruit

Saver of Souls

If you’re bereft and lost,

And you can’t pay the cost

Of your heart’s holocaust

And your path takes its tolls

When your faith in life fails

And true trouble assails

There’s a love that avails

Jesus is the saver of souls

If your spirit is blind

And you can’t seem to find

Any peace for your mind-

You’ve abandoned your goals

For much more you were meant

Than for troubled torment

Come to Him and repent

Jesus is the saver of souls

So believe on the Lord 

Jesus Christ and be saved. 

For on this your life depends

Trust in him child of dust

He is faithful and just

And his mercy never ends

Soon there’s coming a day

When this world slips away

Hear and Heed

To those who have the ears to hear

Listen oh listen to the Lord

He is not silent and his voice is clear

And it must not be ignored

The word of the Lord is a lamp and a light

My heart is changed at what I’ve heard

It illumines the mind to the wrong and the right

So I will hear and heed his Holy Word

I will hear best when I draw near

This is my greatest need- 

To have a listening ear

The word that many who have gone 

before me have heard 

So be it unto me according to your word

If I’m listening I will hear him

For his word speaks peace to me

If I’m wise then I will fear him

For I will forever need him
