My Only Boast

I went searching for You

And I found You in Your Word

But You first drew me to Yourself

In the preaching that I heard

Knowing You has been my greatest joy

You’ve been my great pursuit

But You were first pursuing me

Righteous and resolute

And I know that I know that I know

The Lord of steadfast love and light

Of justice and righteousness

For in these things You delight 

Now You’ve revealed Yourself to me

Father, Son and Holy Ghost

To know and understand You

Has become my only boast

I long to see my great desire fulfilled

To see You face to face

In Your presence there to dwell

Forever by Your Grace

You’re the author of my living faith 

That will one day be complete

When I stand bold and holy

Before Your mercy seat!

And I know that I know that I know
