Unsung Song

There is a song that one day we’ll be singing

A song of consummation ere long

But till that day the joy that hope is bringing

It will sustain our faith until we sing that song

But here and now the not yet seems so distant

The music falls on ears that strain to hear

The far off chords are still persistent

And they’re perceived by every faithful ear

There’s a harmony from creation

A symphony of praise

The music of the spheres foreign to the ears

Of the world and its wicked ways

But one day we will sing it together

The one-another will distill into one voice

And in unity we shall sing forever

When Jesus shows His face we will rejoice

The song was written before the world’s foundations

The worldly noise will seek to drown it  out

But yet it beckons every generation

To learn the melody this world knows naught about

There’s a harmony from creation

A symphony of praise

The music of the spheres foreign to the ears

Of the world and its wicked ways

But one day we will sing it together

One another will distill to one voce

And in unity we shall sing forever

When Jesus shows His face we will rejoice
