My Lord was nailed unto a tree
Upon the cross of Calvary
There upon the cross He became Sin
And we become the righteousness of God IN Him
So for the joy that was before Him set
He despised the shame and paid the debt
Then from the grave He arose God be praised
By the Father Son and Spirit He was raised
No end of wonder I’ll fall on my face
There in the weight of glory and God’s grace
No end of wonder that He took my place
There in the weight of glory and God’s grace
Bridge
Oh perfect propitiation
Oh exquisite expiation
Our Sin was taken away
When mercy flowed from the cross that day
And if Christ was not forsaken there, we cannot be saved
For on that cross our sin was taken with Him to the grave
And praise the Lord He left it there when He rose again
The death of death has set us free from the rule of Sin
Though other truths I’ll fully apprehend
The cross of Christ I will never comprehend
The more I ponder, the more the mystery
I will contemplate the cross for eternity
No end of wonder I’ll fall on my face
There in the weight of glory and God’s grace
No end of wonder that He took my place
There in the weight of glory and God’s grace
