The Light of Christ

The Light of Christ dispels the darkness

As sin’s  deception it reveals

For sin is blacker than we imagine

For its true nature it conceals

The light of Christ shines forth in glory

It pierces through the darkened mind

And all it touches is enlightened

And by its grace truth is defined

Light of the world life dwells within you

Fill us clay vessels with your light

So may your radiance stun our senses

And in this darkness give us true sight

Oh Glorious light come shine upon us

Make us true lights as you’ve declared

Oh Light of Christ help us see clearly

For in your brilliance sin is stripped bare

Oh light of Christ drive out the shadows

Death’s Valleys illumine, set them aglow

Make bright our path we tread to Glory

Do this your glories now to show

Light of the world life dwells within you
