The Downside of the Hill

It’s been a long, long journey

Many dreams yet to fulfill

Their remains much less pressure

On the downside of the hill

At times I’ve run full tilt ahead

The other times at a standstill

Life’s gravity helps me along

On the downside of the hill

My hand’s been ever at the plow

Fallow ground I’ve tried to tell.

But I’ve become more fruitful

On the downside of the hill

I wish I had redeemed more time

Once time was just a thing to kill

Time seems more precious by the day

On the downside of the hill

Bridge

As a finish up this race, I’m on

I pray I finish well

I can’t return the way I’ve gone

I guess only time will tell

I surely want to keep my eyes

On Jesus for He is the prize

So I’ll keep on fighting the good fight

Living grace in God’s goodwill

There plenty life left yet to live

On the downside of the hill

I’m grateful my God‘s in control

And the times I’ve done his will

But it’s not over till it’s over

On the downside of the hill

But it’s not over till it’s over

On the downside of the hill
