Mercy, Like a Mighty Stream

To those that fear and trust the Lord,
His mercy stands for ever sure:
From age to age his promise lives,
Thus shall the sinner-saint endure.

Faith in his name forbids us fear;
O may your presence ne'er depart!
And in the morning draw us near
By the tender mercy of your heart.

Oh mercy, like a mighty stream,
Wave after wave your mercy flows
Oh mercy, like a mighty stream,
Wash us whiter than the pure snow.

The God of mercy be adored,
Who calls our souls from sin and death;
Who saves by his redeeming word,
And by His new-creating breath.

Who shall the Lord's elect condemn?
'Tis God that justifies their souls;
And mercy, like a mighty stream,
O'er all their sins divinely rolls.

Oh mercy, like a mighty stream,
Wave after wave your mercy flows
Oh mercy, like a mighty stream,
Take us under, cleanse our souls

Upon the one in awe before you
Wave after wave your mercy flows

Lke 1: 50 His mercy flows in wave after wave on those who are in awe before him.
