Abomination

I’ve been a murderer in my mind, I have been a thief

I’ve been a fool and I’ve been blind and never came to grief

In my dark delusions and preponderance of pride

A sure abomination until that time I died

I have had a lying tongue, I have had haughty eyes

Devised wicked schemes and as a witness uttered lies

I’ve offered blemished offerings, and worship insincere

My arrogant and prideful heart was bereft of Godly fear

I was an abomination

But now in consecration

I have repented and confessed my sin

Through the power of my Savior

Forgiven, I’ve found favor

What a gift!- this dead man can begin again

For my good Father knew me and by His grace He drew me

To Himself through the work of His own son

And now I live forgiven This is the truth I live in

I can reckon my self dead to sin for it is done.

Bridge

I was one unholy mess, a lusting loser, I confess

Now no more spreading strife-I want live my life

Abhoring mischief, to be known by love

Now I have new sight-And will walk within the light

Give my heart and mind and soul to God above

I was an abomination

But now in consecration

I have repented and confessed my sin

Through the power of my Savior

Forgiven, I’ve found favor

What a gift!-this dead man can begin again
