In heaven the glorified do not weep, for all causes of grief are gone.
There are no broken hearts nor lost dreams for which to long
Persecution, poverty and pain and are unknown there.
No dangers to distress us, no unrequited cares.
They are safe in a city that will never be taken;
They pluck fruit from a tree that will never die
They bask in a sun that shall never be setting;
They drink of a river that will never run dry;
Well might they stop mourning since they've ceased to sin at last.
They are not distressed, for fear of trouble now is past.
They know they‘re once- for-all secure. Sin shut out, and they shut in.
And so the saints will e’re endure- Christ’s victory they
win.
They are safe in a city that will never be taken;
They pluck fruit from a tree that will never die
They bask in a sun that shall never be setting;
They drink of a river that will never run dry;
So there the weeping
willow is exchanged for victory-palm
And sorrow's tears will be transformed to the pearls of blissful calm
The joy of Christ is infinite They bathe in joyful rest
And fullness of delight in shoreless seas of blessedness
They are safe in a city that will never be taken;
They pluck fruit from a tree that will never die
They bask in a sun that shall never be setting;
They drink of a river that will never run dry.
