Take Aim

 

The Blur

When I wake up in the morning and I face another day

I get up and do what I must do.

I often fail to think about what hopes will come my way

And at the end of the day I have no clue

Lord I want to bring you glory

I want to live in gratitude

But my life won’t make a difference

Lest I do it all for you

So whether I eat or whether I drink

All that I do and all that I think

I want to do all for the glory of your name

In word and deed -this is my holy aim

So I must take aim at the target-I must set that holy goal

And set my mind on things above

If there’s a task for me I’ll mark it As the pursuit of my soul

To find another way to stir up love

I don’t want to walk another day aimless

Tossed to and fro like the waves of the sea

I want to focus on a purpose that is blameless

I want to live the mystery

So whether I eat or whether I drink

All that I do and all that I think

I want to do all for the glory of your name

Weight of Glory

We're vessels of mercy prepared beforehand

Called into God's presence by grace now to stand

The riches of his glory now is made known

We rejoice in this hope at His glorious throne.

Oh the glory of the Lord we shall see

In the glory of the Lord we shall share

This, our ultimate hope through the Gospel of Christ

The eternal weight of glory we shall bear.

The Lord will present us clean without blame

Partaking the Glory of Christ is our aim

This glory we’ll bear has an eternal weight

So until that day on the Lord we will wait.

Oh the glory of the Lord we shall see

Awaken to Wonder

 

Lord, dumbfound our souls Quicken our minds

Undo our hearts as your treasure we find

Jolt our conceptions-Tear the veil now asunder

Like Isaiah’s vision now stir us to wonder

Help us believe We would apprehend

The stark reality of how you did condescend

Help us perceive Your great cosmic glory

Awaken to wonder at the amazing story

Lord your incarnation is beyond compare

The weight of your Glory’s more than we can bear

For infinitely greater that we can conceive

That God came to earth so that we would believe

Christ is Before All Things

Pearl of Great Price

Christ is the perfect image of our God who is unseen-

The source of all creation, the invisible made seen

By Him all things were created on earth and heaven above

The universe and all it holds were created out of love

Whether thrones of dominions or those who rule

All powers and authorities

Were created through Him and for Him

All time and eternity.

Through Christ all things exist

And in Him all things consist

He is sovereign forever

In Him all things hold together

All life from Him ever springs

For Christ is before all things

Of his people-His church, His holy bride- Jesus is the head

The alpha, the beginning, the firstborn of the dead

Preeminent over everything- superior, supreme

Where the fullness of God is pleased to dwell- Yahweh and Elohim

Through and to himself all things are reconciled

In earth or in heaven above

He makes peace with God by the blood of his cross.

For His chosen and beloved

Through Christ all things exist

And in Him all things consist

He is sovereign forever

In Him all things hold together

All life from Him ever springs

Holy Spirit Take Control

Spirit of God  touch my heart

Sanctify and set me apart

Your gift I have received

You make me to believe

Now every morning brings a brand new start

Spirit of Jesus with you I am sealed

You are the Spirit of Truth to you I yield

You are my comfort and consolation

My judge and my salvation

Renew my mind so I can know what you’ve revealed

Holy Spirit draw me near-Teach me of holy fear

Give me a listening ear-That your Truth I might hear

Spirit of Christ rectify my soul

Holy Spirit I yield to your control

You are the author of belief

May I never cause you grief

Spirit you are the one who makes the broken whole.

Spirit of Truth speak to me

Testify of things I cannot see

My sinful soul restrain

Make your will seem plain

Empower me to be all I can be.
