Awaken to Wonder

 

Lord, dumbfound our souls Quicken our minds

Undo our hearts as your treasure we find

Jolt our conceptions-Tear the veil now asunder

Like Isaiah’s vision now stir us to wonder

Help us believe We would apprehend

The stark reality of how you did condescend

Help us perceive Your great cosmic glory

Awaken to wonder at the amazing story

Lord your incarnation is beyond compare

The weight of your Glory’s more than we can bear

For infinitely greater that we can conceive

That God came to earth so that we would believe

Oh our souls, awake- cause our heart to quake

Our slow minds you break for your name sake, 

For Your name’s sake

Break forth oh Spirit Awaken the wonder

More than we can imagine More than we can ponder

Wonder and awe as we contemplate

Excitement and terror We tremble and wait

Awaken  the wonder Stir our emotions

Astonish our souls Wreck our fallen notions

Arouse holy fear Let us feel as we ought

To rejoice as we tremble In awe at the thought

Lord your incarnation is beyond compare

The weight of your Glory’s more than we can bear

For infinitely greater that we can conceive
