Path of Righteousness

On the path of righteousness-The road is sometimes rough and steep

There we shall repent and confess-Kept safe within God’s keep.

We walk a long obedience -In the same holy direction 

We press on through unforeseen events-To make sure our election

On the path of righteousness -The way is narrow and is straight

This long highway of holiness -Leads forth from the narrow gate

This is the way of sovereign grace-Paved with Christ’s pure righteousness 

With joy and gladness we keep the pace-Upon the way of blessedness 

Ever on our shepherd leads-For his own very name’s sake

And all God’s sign posts we shall heed-As of his mercies we partake

For this sojourn is the way-Called the highway of holiness

And we shall never go astray-Upon this path of righteousness.

The path is packed by glory’s weight-And glory lends its light

It leads on to heaven’s gate-Through shadows of the darkest night

Gladness and joy attend our days-As on the journey we progress

Upon this holy pilgrim way-The highway of holiness.

God is In Control

My God and King

You rule over everything

There is no time nor place

That feigns your sovereign grace

And of your kingdom we forever sing

You decide and you choose

Whether we win or we lose

You judge and rule

The wise man and the fool

Your will be done and none may refuse

Each heart and soul

You break and You make whole

Every morning, every day

Your power is on display

For all creation’s under your control

Your kingdom comes near

It has been and it is here

The realms of Earth

Will soon declare your worth

With those who love you with a holy fear

None may resist your reign

Nor defy what you ordain

Only Ever Better

Oh the hidden person of the heart may be obscure

Yet character and wisdom will attain

There's an imperishable beauty that endures

And it may grow in fields of suffering and pain

Our bodies may be failing, our hair is turning gray

As time rolls on Our vigor ever wanes

Our outward lights grow dimmer yet there will come a day

When all our losses will become our gains

Only ever better is what we’ll come to be

Only ever better as we are forever healed

Only ever better for all eternity

It comes to pass when Jesus is revealed.

Vanity is futile, by pride we are undone

We get worn down and worn out from the stress

Press on unto the upward mark -this race is being run

By grace alone so our hearts continue to be blessed.

In God I Trust

We need holiness…

If we hope to see

The Lord of righteousness 

Then sin we have to flee.

But I fear I must confess

That’s not describing me-

I am One unholy mess,

That’s what I’m prone to be 

What a wretched reality!

 

But what God requires

He always will provide

He preserves me thru the fire 

Where I’m being sanctified.

Our Jesus never tires

In Him I can confide-

He lifts me ever higher

And devastates my pride,

And one day I will be glorified 

 

Declared just 

In God I trust

I cannot do what I must

But Christ in me can

Now before the throne I stand

As a righteous holy man

 

He chose before all time

The ones He also called

Grafted to the vine

He justified them all

Now glorified by the Divine

And by holiness enthralled

Now joined to the sublime,

The greatest and the small

We are ransomed from the fall…

The Day of Reckoning

We will all stand upon the holy mount

What is done in darkness shall surely come to light

And for our lives we will account 

This is the promise this is what is right

All is revealed when faith becomes sight

Christ our sure security

Help us, Jesus, to endure
