The Least, The Last, The Lost

My Lord came down
To a little town
The least of Judah’s clans
In the least of these
His brothers He sees
And with them He shall stand

My Lord came down
To those of no renown
And the first He declared last
For the last in line
He seeks and will find
The shunned and the outcast.

My Lord came down
Laid aside His crown
Came to seek and save the lost
He humbled himself
Put aside His wealth
And was obedient to death on a cross

For the least, the last, the lost
He paid redemption’s cost
The humble and contrite
Heart  will walk in the light
When from death to life they’ve crossed

Bridge
The incarnation’s price-Is a final sacrifice
But the cross will yield a crown.
When mercy and grace-Shall reign in this place
Then the prisoners are unbound
The least and the worst-And the last shall be first
And the lost will then be found

For the least, the last, the lost
He paid redemption’s cost
The humble and contrite
Heart  will walk in the light
When from death to life they’ve crossed
