More Than Mere Music

Our songs are a sacrifice

Of praise to our God

That many will hear and believe

Our songs are indwelt

By the Spirit of God

Inhabited  by the grace we receive

More than mere music the songs that we sing

Testify to the world as we walk in the light

So this chorus of praises to Jesus we bring.

As we lift our voices our hearts shall take flight

For you promise to live in our praise in your Word

We lift up holy voices in meter and rhyme

And these mystical melodies still can be heard

In the songs of the redeemed of all time!

You store up our prayers,You enter our praise

We focus our heart with an infinite gaze

So we sing of your grace and your love all our days

To the altar of intimacy we shall bring

The gift of our praise offering.

Thrice holy, yet sheltering us under your wing

You are merciful in your great might

More than mere music the songs that we sing

Testify to the world as we walk in the light

We will sing praise with our spirits,

But we will also sing with our minds

Then the nations will hear it

And God’s salvation find!
