What would I give for that pearl of great price Whose value transcends every prize?
How can I be a living sacrifice When He owns everything that is mine?
Every step and every breath Are given by God’s providence
But blessings can verily lead to my death If I seek for them as my recompense
Possessions will fade away bye and bye They’ll all be consumed in time’s fires
But all summed together cannot satisfy All my deepest needs and desires
All my successes and all I produce Like wood hay and stubble shall burn
Possessions can become like a noose For eternal life you can’t earn
All of my blessings and gain Come down from the Father of lights
Every good perfect gift I will fain If it diverts from heavenly sights
Now let it all be sacrificed, If it will get me more of Christ.
I count as loss and as decay and dearth All that this dark world affords
Because of the surpassing, glorious worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord.
That I may gain Jesus Christ, and His cross His praises will stay on my tongue
For His sake alone I’ve suffered the loss of all things and count them as dung
The present light sufferings I reckon Aren’t worthy to be compared
With the glorious future that beckons Our hearts to be truly prepared
And so we will look to that glory Which in us shall soon be revealed
But now God is writing our story Down here on this world’s battlefield…
All of my blessings and gain Come down from the Father of lights
Every good perfect gift I will fain If it diverts from heavenly sights
Now let it all be sacrificed, If it will get me more of Christ.
Now let it all be sacrificed, If it will get me more of Christ.
Now let it all be sacrificed, If it will get me more of Christ.
