Jesus Calls Us to the Mountain

Jesus calls us to the mountain

To the mount of providence

There we find a flowing fountain

And a tower for our defense

From that fountain every blessing

Flows to give us hope secure

Whether laboring or in resting

There we’ll  evermore endure

There on Zion, there on Sinai

God revealed Himself to man

But the mount on which the Lord died

Is the ground on which we stand

Come to Calvary all who labor

Lay your weary burdens down

On the mountain of His favor

There your peace with God is found

No more climbing no subduing

No more thorny stoney ground

For the heights that we’re pursuing

Are where mercies all abound

From that mountain  we see clearly

Gazing on the glorious sights

With new vision  now our hearts  see

What is good and true and right

Every power, every nation

Trembles now beneath its heights

For the God of our Salvation

Rules supreme o’er death and life

Come to Calvary all who labor

Lay your weary burdens down

On the mountain of His favor

There your peace with God is found
