We are strangers, we are aliens
We are exiled homo sapiens
Wandering in the wilderness
Pilgrims in this mortal mess
In this land that is not our own
With fire in the belly, fire in the bones
Yet here our souls get parched and dry
It would be such gain to die
We are thirsty, quench our thirst
Living water reverse the curse
Let us drink deeply hear our cry
Till our desert souls are satisfied
We languish in a barren land
Of shifting winds and shifting sand
Wandering and wondering when
We will see what might have been
We are seeking the latter rains
Where the main things become plain
We seek solace from the sun
In the wilderness we’re undone
We are thirsty, quench our thirst
Living water reverse the curse
Let us drink deeply, hear our cry
Till our desert souls are satisfied
All delusions are burned away
All illusions now give sway
To the good the beautiful and true
When kingdom come we find in You.
We are thirsty, quench our thirst
Living water reverse the curse
Let us drink deeply , hear our cry
Till our desert souls are satisfied
