Your mercies are new
every morning
The morningstars
gather in praise
Once
more, my soul, the lights
adorning
Once
more, my voice, Your
tribute
pays
Night
unto night His names repeat,
The
day renews the sound,
Wide
as the heav'nly
mercy seat
His
kindnesses abound...
This mornings
lovingkindness
And Your
faithfulness by night,
And the bread and
meat of righteousness
We
feed on and delight!
God
is our sun, whose daily light
Our
joy and safety brings;
Our
feeble flesh lies safe at night
Beneath
his shadowing
wings.
Thus
far the Lord has led me on,
Thus
far his power prolongs my days;
And
every evening shall make known
Some
fresh memorial of his grace.
This mornings lovingkindness
And Your faithfulness by night,
And the bread and meat of righteousness
We feed on and delight!
I
lay my body down to sleep,
Peace
is the pillow for my head;
While
well-appointed angels keep
Their
watchful stations round my bed.
Dear
God, let all my hours be thine,
Whilst
I enjoy the light,
Then
shall my sun in smiles decline,
And
bring a pleasing night.
This mornings
lovingkindness
And Your
faithfulness by night,
And the bread and
meat of righteousness
We
feed on and delight!
