One Word (Tetelestai)

What is that one wondrous word

That defeats the devil when it is heard?

What is that message we must tell him

What little word shall surely fell him?

Tetelestai- it is over and done

Tetelestai-It is finished and the victory is won

It was accomplished at the cross

Christ won the battle when He paid the cost

And the serpent’s skull was crushed by God’s Son

Christ became Sin for us  frail men

A substitute though He knew no sin

So God’s righteousness we become

In Him and through him we overcome
