A battle cry of hope for the wounded,
A petition for the weary, for the lost. . . .
A witness to the people in our church yet to believe
We sing unto the drowning, tempest tossed
To the unsaved spouse, the cynical and sad teen,
The intrigued friend who sees us worshipping
We witness to the outsider stepping through our door
But Jesus most of all to Thee we sing.
So we make a joyful noise
With affection lift our voice
Hymns and psalms and spiritual songs
So let the whole world hear
And be moved to come draw near
To the One to whom all praises belong!
Through the joyful noise we make we voice our witness
We declare the public manifesto of our King
The sight and sound of a people singing praise to God
Conveys a radical witness when to Thee we sing.
So we make a joyful noise
With affection lift our voice
Hymns and psalms and spiritual songs
So let the whole world hear
And be moved to come draw near
To the One to whom all praises belong!
Inhabit our praises, let this be our offering
To glorify You when to Thee we sing
To glorify You when to Thee we sing!
