The weight of glory will crush you
Or it will be the way you will be transformed
As it is revealed
To it we must yield
Then in our suffering to Jesus we’re conformed
So we live for small moments of redemption
We experience God’s mercy in our day
Though we cannot comprehend
The beginning from the end
His providence forever is in play…
It’s not about what we understand
In the midst of the present circumstance
We never quite see what God has planned
We never see the endgame in advance
The paradox of faith is yet attaining
And so we set our sights on things unseen
It’s with the Spirit’s eye
We apprehend the “why”
As on the everlasting arms we lean.
Now within the unseen light we’re living
As we set our minds on things above
We redirect our gaze
And grace will still amaze
And though this life is hard we live in love
It’s not about what we understand
In the midst of the present circumstance
We never quite see what God has planned
We never see the endgame in advance
So we wait, we wait as those with hope
In the promises of God we take our stand
And though we cannot see
We gain the victory
As the grace of God we come to understand
So in the midst of this loss and confusion
God’s goodness becomes our reality;
This suffering and loss
Is transformed by the cross
Grace is not limited by what we see.
