Vanity of Vanities

By the futility of earthly pursuits we're distressed

And the meaning of our life remains a quest

Yet purpose is the thing for which we pray

Life’s true purpose is to fear God and obey

On the transient nature of all things we reflect

All things under the sun are circumspect

Wealth, pleasure, and wisdom attempt to gratify

But ultimately  they never satisfy- tho they try

Vanity of vanities, all is vanity

For in vain men seek true meaning in their strife

Vanity of vanities, the truth will set us free

When verily we fear the Lord of Life

Despite the vanity of worldly pursuits,

We can still enjoy each moment’s attributes

Enjoy the gifts the  Father gives each day

Finding joy in fearing God when we  obey

Vanity of vanities, all is vanity

For in vain men seek true meaning in their strife

Vanity of vanities, the truth will set us free

When verily we fear the Lord of Life

We will trust and obey the Lord of Life.
