Stranded in Time

Dad's Watch

Time waits for no one Time is a beast

It’s wheel runs you under You greatest and least

It grinds you so slowly, it grinds you so fine

And as it increases you will decline

Resistance is futile it carries you on

And like a tornado what once was is gone

This whirlwind blows through you and blow it must

It rattles your bones and scatters your dust

You know our creator has numbered our days

In step with the Spirit, we’ve reason to praise

For soon we’ll be singing a heavenly song

Redemption is coming and it won’t be long

Step into the now- the mystery prime

Until that day comes we are stranded in time.

Eternity beckons, when time is no more

Abundantly blessing, and never a bore

Eternal progress- alive in  God’s Light

There in the presence of everything Right

And so weary pilgrim walk this wilderness

For here you must reckon the trust and the test

The stranding has purpose, a reason and rhyme

The sojourn is calling so redeem the time

You know our creator has numbered our days

In step with the Spirit, we’ve reason to praise

For soon we’ll be singing a heavenly song

Redemption is coming and it won’t be long

Step into the now- the mystery prime

Until that day comes we are stranded in time.
