Whacked Out Spirituality

Here's something I encountered on our trip to see the Christmas decorations on the first day of Advent, where we begin to prepare to celebrate the nativity of the lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world. We celebrate that year 'round, but especially this time of year.

So here's a little duck dressed up as a Christmas tree with the message- "BELIEVE." He's surrounded by a flock, brace, flush, paddling or raft(whatever you choose to use) of duckie-clones.

This is scary it's so cute, but I'm not at all sure I know what I am supposed to BELIEVE in here. Is it that somewhere there are ducks that dress like this? Or perhaps this is some sort of alien lifeform come to save us from a deficiency of cuteness?

I suppose it is more likely a new derivative form of pagan theology. First, there was the myth of justification by death, where all you have to do to go to heaven is to die. Now this one says the destiny of your eternal, immortal soul depends upon whether you BELIEVE- something, anything, even if it is that ducks and trees can produce such offspring. Whatever it is as long as you sincerely BELIEVE, it will be OK. But then there's nothing new with that, is there?

We also saw an inflatable nativity scene blowing in the wind and I'd swear it looked like Mary had a beard and was dressed in red. Maybe it was my imagination, after seeing so many Santa's, or maybe Mary has a hormonal imbalance. Will have to return to check that one out in the daylight.

The random Word Verification generator does not actually do it 'at random'. The words (which are not actual words) are very much like words in their spacing of vowels and consonants.

One is unlikely to see aizgeeo or zuenhbisr as a generated word, so there must be a filter that disallows TOTAL gibberish and obscene words.

Speaking of that, no random-generated yet filtered words are less than 5 letters, so that eliminates many of the 4-letter words. Of course obscene words that start with F could be generated to start with PH and contain more than 4 letters (if you know what I mean).

It's the license plate dilemma, where they try to disallow all possible combinations and permutations that would shock one's sensibilities if they saw in on the car ahead.

Myriads come to mind, if one wants to dwell on such things. Ah, the wiles of the flesh. Probably 'flesh' is a banned word for that matter.

Enuf musing for today... and the current word is: orwhprat. Remove the pr, and you have OR WHAT? A good thought to end with.

Also, remember that while Santa cannot hold a candle to God in the grand scheme of things, he has at least this:

"He knows when you are sleeping, he knows if you're awake. He knows if you've been bad or good, so be good for goodness' sake"

Presents by works, I take it.

(As you can tell, things are a little boring right now at work.)

And one more comment: buressi!
