Another Comforter

Lord you have sent another comforter

Your Holy Spirit- my soul  to keep

You knew I’d need the comforter

This trial is hard and anguish deep

This trial is hard and anguish deep

Here in this death I need a comforter

So devastated I can’t sleep

In agony for the way things were

Come groan with me as  I weep

Oh groan with me as I weep

God of all comfort You alone

Can know my deep sorrow and pain

For all I know, you too have known

I cast my soul on you again

I cast my soul on you again

Oh God of all Consolation

I may not grieve as the world grieves

Yet visit me in my devastation

Still I am one who is bereaved

For I am one who is bereaved

For death is still the final enemy

Oh Holy Spirit give me relief

Come beside me, You who dwell in me

Now in my sorrow and my grief

You know my sorrow and my grief

When death is conquered finally

And suffering is put to its end

We shall rejoice for all eternity

But for now I need my Holy Friend

For now I need my Holy Friend
