Dark Waters

I was dweller in a dark dream

Fumbling in my fantasy

Suffering In a silent scream

Lost and mired in a mystery

My life unfolded in spirals of time

Like an unholy scroll

Circles of sevens and uneven rhyme

Trying till time took its toll

Here in the deep waters

I don’t want to go it alone

Here in the dangerous deep

Places I’ve never known

Here in the dark waters

Here in the deep deluge

His sons and his daughters

Will find their refuge

Bridge

I was drowning in the undertow

I couldn’t call for help

You reached down to the depths below

And saved me from that hell

When I felt you draw me out

I did not resist at all

All that I could think about

Was gratitude as I recall

Here in the deep waters

I don’t have to go it alone

In the dangerous deep

Places I’ve never known

Here in the dark waters

Here in the deep deluge

His sons and his daughters

Will find their refuge
