Shall Wisdom Cry Aloud?

My Jesus is my chief delight, The everlasting Son,
He spoke the Word of Creation And behold it was done
Before the clouds adorned the skies, Before the solid land,
Before the fields, before the floods, Christ dwelt at God’s right hand.

When he ordered the heavens And spread them near and far
To mandate where the sun should rise, And marshal every star.
When he poured out the sea, And spread the flowing deep,
HE gave the flood a firm decree In its own bounds to keep

Shall Wisdom cry aloud, And not her speech be heard?
Will you not heed the wondrous voice of God's eternal Word?
"Then come, receive His grace, Ye children, and be wise;
Happy the man that keeps His ways; The man that shuns them dies.

Ere sin was born, or Adam's dust Was fashioned to a man.
Grace saw the need and saw the seed And our adoption planned
The Trinity foresaw the cross Ere the image bearers fell
With joy He built the mansion where The sons of men should dwell.

For before there was Creation The battle plan was done
As surely as the Lord is good Victory was good as won
For all that is, was, and will be Never comes as a surprise
The one who spoke the Word of Life Sees with all-seeing eyes.

Shall Wisdom cry aloud, And not her speech be heard?
One day every soul regards the voice of God's eternal Word.
Then come, receive His grace, Ye children, and be wise;
Happy the man that keeps His ways; The man that shuns them dies.
