By His Wounds

Christ was raised and lifted up

After he chose to drink our cup

The wrath reserved for us he bore

And now He lives forever more

On the Tree, on the tree He took our iniquity

He himself bore our sins in his body at Calvary

That we might die to sin and live

To the righteousness he gives

For all the world to gaze and see

This is why Christ was revealed:

By his wounds you have been healed.

For he was raised and lifted up

The wrath of God was in his cup

His suffering more than satisfied
It was for us the Savior died.

For our sake he was made to be sin

Unblemished lamb who knew no sin,

The scandalous rejected stone

So that we become when it was done

The righteousness of God in him.

This is why Christ was revealed:

By his wounds you have been healed.

By His wounds, by His wounds

By His wounds we are healed

1 Peter 2:24
