Reconciled Child

I set myself up as an enemy Thought I was wise but I was wrong
Only believed in what I could see But the chains that bound me were strong
Here in the darkness I could not find
A way to the light because I was blind
Living apart from how I was designed to be
But Jesus took ahold of me.

I had been taught a better way But I thought I knew better than that
Miserable at the end of the day Looking for an escape from where I was at
Running away from where I was led
Clothed in graveclothes because I was dead
Then something grabbed me in a word I read, I prayed
And Jesus had something to say.

Rebellious child, running wild Far from my father's home
Come to me child and be reconciled In the darkness no more to roam
Rebellious child, running wild He sought and brought me home
Now I'm a child that's reconciled In the darkness no more to roam

Rebellious child running wild Let me take you home tonight
Just bend the knee and be reconciled To the only way you can be made right
I paid the price and became the prize
I'll open your heart and open your eyes
Cause I'm the only way you can truly be wise
And Jesus walked me into the light.

Reconciled through Jesus Christ -Justified by His blood.
Because He paid salvation's price Saved from the wrath of God
Now by his life shall we be saved
His life takes us beyond the grave
The new life he freely gave sufficed
Cause Jesus called a deadman to life!

Rebellious child, running wild Far from my father's home
Now I'm a child that's reconciled In the darkness no more to roam
Rebellious child, running wild He sought and brought me home
Now I'm a child that's reconciled In the darkness no more to roam.
