The Lord may make us wait
When we really want to go
Prayers may go unanswered
When we really want to know
Often times on purpose
He keeps us in the dark
Then He moves our target
So that we miss our mark
So If you want to follow Jesus
Keep in step with the Spirit
For the Word will lead us
Though we may not want to hear it
You may be taken to a place
Where you don’t want to go near it
But He works for those who wait on Him…
So keep in step with the Spirit
Bridge-It’s so hard to kick against the goad
You know we want to stay on the holy road
But if we yield to the Shepherd’s staff and rod
We will walk in the comfort of our God
God may make us walk
When we are inclined to run
We may make our plans and
He insures they are undone
God may shut us down
When we want to take control
He gives what we have no interest in
For He has things to do in our soul
If you want to follow Jesus
Keep in step with the Spirit
For the Word will lead us
Though we may not want to hear it
You may be taken to a place
Where you don’t want to go near it
But He works for those who wait on Him…
So keep in step with the Spirit
