Everything Sad Will Come Untrue

Time is a flowing, fleeting thing
We know not what tomorrow brings
But at the end of days we do-
When everything sad will come untrue
Everything sad will come untrue.

Christ's birth,  death and resurrection means
That everything is not as it seems
One day all things will be made new
And everything sad will come untrue
Everything sad will come untrue.

One day- the day for which we yearn
Will come- the day of your return
What you began you will see through
And everything sad will come untrue
Everything sad will come untrue.

Soon when your glory is revealed
Each knee shall bow, each heart will yield
You'll prove what we already knew,
And everything sad will come untrue
Everything sad will come untrue.

Mourning into a dance will turn,
As flames the altars ashes burn-
At one with the One that we pursue
Then everything sad will come untrue.
Everything sad will come untrue.
Everything sad will come untrue.
Everything sad will come untrue.

Rescue and Return (Joel 2:25-32)

Prodigals are starving in their need
On rubble their souls dare to feed
Their hunger is never satisfied
For empty hearts will fill with pride

Desires that surely spell out doom,
The fires of passions that consume-
These are deeds that appoint their fate
But God will restore the days the locusts ate

God sends his armies to me and you
The wandering children  to rescue
He will do whatever it takes
To jar us from our sin for His name’s sake

The Lord our Father will war with us
And grind our stony hearts to dust
If we commit to  wander,  He’ll tear our lives asunder
Until we fall on our face and trust
And hearts of flesh he fills with wonder

You shall eat in plenty and be satisfied,
Of the Lord your God, And praise His name
He Who has dealt wondrously with you;
And My people shall never be put to shame.
I am the Lord in whom all things consist
And there is no other, and no other name
Then you shall know that I am in your midst
My people shall never be put to shame.

Bridge:
And so we must examine whether we  abide in faith
Is my heart a prodigal, going its own way?
Am I leaning on my understanding
Not doing what the Lord’s commanding
Lord, reveal  my motivations, this I pray…

The Lord our Father will war with us
And grind our stony hearts to dust
If we commit to  wander, He’ll tear our lives asunder
Until we fall on our face and trust
And hearts of flesh he fills with wonder

Show Me More of You

Show me more of You
Show me more of You
Reveal to me your mystery
Show me more of You
The more I see of You
The more I see of You
The more I long with You to be
The more I see of You

Your presence Lord is what I long for
Abiding with You in this place
For there is healing in my suffering
And  evermore I seek Your face

Show me more of you
Show me more of you
Reveal to me your mystery
Show me more of you
The more I see of You
The more I see of You
The more I long with you to be
The more I see of You

I have this blessed assurance
The fruit of sanctifying grace
You make me perfect in my weakness
My thorn torn flesh is not a waste

Show me more of you
Show me more of you
Reveal to me your mystery
Show me more of you
The more I see of You
The more I see of You
The more I long with you to be
The more I see of You

Lay Your Head Down Weary Warrior

Every newborn is a stranger To this world we don’t belong
There is  trouble, there is danger Born again, we battle on
For our enemy’s a vulture And he would love to pick our bones
All the carrion of the culture Want to steal the truth we’ve known

A pilgrim on the path divine Through a brutal battlefield
Where illusions rise to cloud our minds We must fight and never yield
The weak and wounded Jesus calms- He will comfort and defend
He will bind us up with blessed balms, Broken spirits He will mend.

Chorus:
Lay your head down weary warrior Lay your head on Jesus’ breast
Cast your bones upon this altar Let it go and find your rest
He’ll raise you up and give you power In your weakness He’ll be strong
Let His Spirit  be your  tower Flee to Him where you belong!

There is resurrection power That buries me to raise my bones
And I rise up like some holy flower Facing new knowns and unknowns
What will I do with this new breath For in a world of death we live
And yet we overcome through death, and  joy for the journey He will give

There’s a better day a comin' When your time on earth is done
Where the wheels will cease their hummin' And the silence bids you come.
Lay your head down saddened soldier All your weapons  lay them down
For there’s respite from the battle Solace on this battle ground.

Chorus:
Lay Your head down weary warrior, rest within His mighty arms
He will break down every barrier He will keep your soul from harm
Lay your head down weary warrior Lay you head on Jesus’ breast
Cast your bones upon this altar Let it go and find your rest
Let it go and find your rest
Let it go and find your rest
