Works and Wonders

Oh, the sheer goodness of God’s Providence

He gives to us according to His will

So troubles may surround us yet we live with confidence

In His perfect time, He still says peace be still

According to His mercy, according to his Grace

He gives to us all the blessings of His heaven

If we will turn our eyes from here instead to seek his face

We’ll apprehend the wonders He has given

For lo, His works are mighty

With a Word the worlds were formed

The voice of God almighty 

His wonders now perform! 

For still great miracles are wrought 

Under His sovereign control 

The great wonder that we were sought and bought

Each time He saves a soul

Yes, greater than the wonders

Declared through time and space

Pale beside that which we ponder

The wonders of His Grace

According to His perfect will, the Father works all things

And if He didn’t spare his very son

How much more grace His mercy brings

For His name’s sake, all His will- will e’er be done!
