When I Wake

When I wake on a dim dark morning

Rising from a sullen night

I will take note of my Saviors warning

That I should not hide my light

I will rise up and share the story

How the treasure in my clay

It will shine forth a morning glory

That will brighten up the day

So let your light so shine

Shine out, mister

Let your light so shine

So let your light so shine

Shine out, sister

Let your light so shine

I will wake on resurrection morning

I will arise, arise and shine

I will wake to a new world a-borning

Leave the darkness all behind

Then I will glow with glory reflecting

What no earthly light can replace

This light comes- the world perfecting

As we see Jesus' face

So let your light so shine

Shine out, mister

Let your light so shine

So let your light so shine

Shine out, sister

Let your light so shine
