Undertow

Beneath the surface it lies

A clear and present danger

Hard to discern-  it belies

The truth that's ever stranger

It can take you under

Tear you asunder

What’s below you never know

There in the Undertow

What’s below you never know

There in the undertow

There’s danger there below

In the hidden undertow

Life has its temptations

And life promises much

Ease comfort and pleasure

And mammon and such

They become like idols

Futility’s crutch

They will take you under

Keep you out of touch.

What’s below you never know

There in the undertow

There’s danger there below

In the hidden undertow

Things are not as they seem

They are rarely discerned

We live in the shallows

Forget what we’ve learned

We make our delusions

We sleep in the light

We buy the illusion

That everything’s right

What’s below you never know

There in the undertow

There’s danger there below

In the hidden undertow

The Thin Line

Truth is never complex-Asceity is simple

Every heart should genuflect-Your body is a temple

Clarity is power-Right is never wrong

Sweet may turn to sour-Still the singer sings His song

Destruction’s gaping gate Is as broad as it’s wide

And its wide open state Is a source of great pride

But strait is the gate, and narrow is the way,

Which leads unto life,  and few find it today

Yes the line is thin, the line is thin

Yes, it’s a thin line between life and death

Inhale and exhale with every breath

The straight and narrow way

We walk that line day by day

If we die before we wake

We pray Thee Lord-Our soul to take

Faith has its own author But steward it we must

But the rebel and the scoffer Are not burdened with trust

Here on the straight and narrow Pride goes before the fall

Better fly straight as an arrow, like a prayer nailed to the wall

Life on the tightrope-on the thin line of life

Hoping against hope on the edge of a knife

One foot follows each footstep keeping in time

Keep in step with the Spirit On the thin line

The path that you follow determines your fate

The wise man will pursue the way that is straight

The line will take us home if we follow the signs

If we follow the One who has drawn the line

And the line is thin, the line is thin

Yes, it’s a thin line between life and death

Inhale and exhale every breath

The straight and narrow way

We walk that line by day

If we die before we wake

We pray Thee Lord-Our soul to take

In God We Make Our Boast

This is what the Lord says:

"Let not the wise man boast in his wisdom,

let not the mighty man boast in his might,

let not the rich man boast in his riches,

but let him who boasts always boast aright

That he understands me and he knows me,

that I am the Lord of infinite worth

who practices steadfast love, and justice,

and works out righteousness in the earth.

For in these things I delight, declares the Lord.

For in these things I delight, declares the Lord.”

In God we make our boast

In God we make our boast

In God we make our boast all day long,

and we will praise your name forever.

and we will praise your name forever.

In God we make our boast all day long,

Abounding in love- steadfast and faithful,

Keeping those who abide in holy fear,

Forgiving iniquity  and our sin,

But by no means will the guilty be cleared!

In God we make our boast

In God we make our boast

In God we make our boast all day long,

and we will praise your name forever.

and we will praise your name forever.

In God we make our boast all day long,

All day long!

Wall of Fire

Be to us a wall of fire
Encircle us around

Be the glory in our midst

Make us your Holy ground

Lord be our flaming fortress

Ablaze with living stones

To separate us and defend us

As your very own

Lord glorify yourself in us

Indwell us with Your fire

May glory purify our hearts

And lift us ever higher

Enclose us in Your glory

Where you are our perfect light

Reveal Yourself and make us strong

In the power of Your might

You promise to defend us

In the desperate hour

And so we flee unto You

Our strong and mighty tower

Clothe us in righteous raiment

In union with the Lamb

Engulf us in your presence

Our Lion, the great I Am!

All the promises the Lord has made

In Christ are yes to me

And how much more each promise

Are Amen, Lord, let it be!

They are Amen for God’s glory!

Clothe us in righteous raiment

In union with the Lamb

Engulf us in your presence

Our Lion, the great I Am!

Redeemer

My strength and my Redeemer

Oh my Rock and my God most High

Holy One of Israel

From the depths of the earth to You I cry

Lead me to the Rock that is higher than I

You who formed me in the womb

Who also made all heaven’s hosts

God of the whole universe

I shall offer up to You my utmost

And In You alone shall I make my boast

I know that my Great Redeemer Lives

My ransom and pardon he has planned

In that latter day to Zion He comes

And on this very earth He shall stand

And on this very earth He shall stand

You are the God that’s faithful

Kings shall see You and shall arise

You are  Lord of the chosen

You are completely Good and true and wise

You alone are majestic in our eyes

Everlasting is Your kindness

And from Age to age the same

Lead us now unto repentance

For the glory of Your wonderful name

Your redemptive mercies we will proclaim!

I know that my Great Redeemer lives

My ransom and pardon He has planned

In that latter day to Zion He comes

And on this very earth He shall stand

And on this very earth He shall stand

Mighty to Save

I heard a beckoning voice

“Rise up and follow me”

Dead men live by Father’s choice

Of whom He will set free

Shake off the shackles of your sin

For living men must live

What He requires has ever been

Provided in what He gives

Mighty to save, mighty to save

Jesus is mighty to save

The redeemer all our sin forgave

Jesus is mighty to save

All hail the voice that calls us forth

Embrace the words Christ gave

All hail the gift of matchless worth

For He is mighty to  save

Bridge

Empowered by His call

Enlivened by His grace

His mercy comes to one and all

Who trust in His embrace

Dead men have but one great need

And that need is to live

So rise and from your grave be freed

Receive the life Christ gives

Mighty to save, mighty to save

Jesus is mighty to save

Jesus rules o’er the grave

Jesus is mighty to save
