Corrosion and Stains

Nothing falls together

It always falls apart

Life rarely if ever

Produces works of art

When it’s all said and it’s all done

It takes a push to make the wheels run

There is no easy, peezy

The ride will make you queasy

The trip downhill is rarely fun

It takes an intercession

It takes sheer discipline

Takes an intervention

To chalk up every win

It’s corrosion and stains

That’s what remains

More losses than gains

After the Fall

So we run the race

Try not to fall on our face

Unless it’s headlong on Grace

Pray Christ tears down the wall

Devastation takes its toll

So Jesus, fill that God shaped hole

I’m prone to get out of control

It took a cross to save my soul

It’s corrosion and stains

That’s what remains

More losses than gains

After the fall

So we run the race

Try not to fall on our face

Unless it’s headlong on Grace

Pray Christ tears down the wall
