The Hope of the Gospel

Christ is near to the brokenhearted

He will draw near to those who draw near

He will finish what he has started

He gives hope in exchange for our fear...

There is Good News for all who are burdened

He will exalt the weak and contrite

They can stand on the Truth that is certain

In the darkness has shown a great light

The hope of the Gospel is Jesus

The hope of deliverance is found

In the truth that enraptures and frees us

That believers are all heaven bound

So this is the old Gospel story

He works all things together for Good

For all who abide in his Glory

Their purpose at last understood

For the one who was dead and was buried

Then was raised up from to life from the grave

He has left there our sin that he carried

Now, because of his work, we are saved

The hope of the Gospel is Jesus

The hope of deliverance is found

In the truth that enraptures and frees us

And believers are all heaven bound 

Yes, this is the old Gospel story

Destined to be conformed to the Son

We are transformed from glory to glory

Because of the great things he has done
