Rest for Your Soul

 

Walk in the old path says the Lord

And you will find rest for your souls

There is nothing new that can afford

The holy rest that makes you whole 

For a rest of conscience is the secret need

Of a vast portion of mankind

And there is no work and there is no deed

Where in true rest you can find

Come and find rest of your soul

Come and find rest for your soul

Come cast your burdens- give Christ control

Come and find rest for your soul

That present sense of wrongness grows

Do you understand the cause?

But every heavy-laden sinner knows

That hunger that inside them gnaws

And riches and pleasures cannot give

The things you’re so will be blessed

Passed off your burden, come to live

In the Christ, who will give you rest

Come and find rest of your soul

Come and find rest for your soul

Come cast your burdens- give Christ control
