We make our plans, we map our ways,
Yet God’s the author of our days.
We write in ink what fades to dust,
While in His hands our steps we trust.
A morning mist, a passing breath,
Beyond our sight of life and death,
We bow our heads and softly pray:
His will alone be done today
Lord your Kingdom come
Lord Your will be done
As in heaven, so on earth
We trust Your will as we go forth
We write our dreams across the sand,
Forgetting tides move by Your hand.
We build our towers tall and high,
Beneath an ever-shifting sky.
Bridge
Yet peace is found in letting go
Of all we think we ought to know.
The tomorrows that we strive to see
Belong to Him, and not to me.
So let our boastings fall away,
As morning light dissolves the gray.
With open hands, we walk the line,
Submitting to God’s grand design.
Lord your Kingdom come
Lord Your will be done
As in heaven, so on earth
We trust Your will as we go forth
