Simple Song

In the morning when I rise
I will lift my waking eyes
And set my mind on things above
I will rest my soul on love
In the days of laboring
In my spirit I will sing
Whether it be early or late
On your word I’ll meditate

What ever is true and noble
Whatever is right and pure
Whatever is lovely or admirable
I will set my mind on what endures
If there be anything that is excellent
If there be things worthy of praise
I will trust and I will be silent
I will think on these all of my days.

After all my work is done
Still to you my heart shall run
May my words and all my deeds
Please the one who meets my needs
When I am on my bed
When to rest I lay my head
Searching where my heart has been
I will tremble and not sin

Bridge:
Each day in Your Word I’m reminded
We’re created to live as we should
I want to be so heavenly minded
So I can be the most earthly good

What ever is true and noble
Whatever is right and pure
Whatever is lovely or admirable
I will set my mind on what endures
If there be anything that is excellent
If there be things worthy of praise
I will trust and I will be silent
I will think on these all of my days.

Knowing You, Oh Lord

In you all that is good and true
And beautiful resides
In you alone all things consist
In you real life abides
Oh holy love and light of light
Come make your glory known
Come rend the veils that hide our eyes
Till we see you alone.

There is no greater blessing than knowing you oh Lord
Knowing You oh Lord no blessing can replace
There is no place where we can go for we cannot afford
To turn from you to go and seek our ways
There is no satisfaction like your grace

For in you we live
In you we move
In you we find our being
In you we are approved
In you we find our joy and peace
In you we find our rest
In you alone we have our hope
You are our righteousness

There is no greater blessing than knowing you oh Lord
Knowing You oh Lord no blessing can replace
There is no place where we can go for we cannot afford
To turn from you to go and seek our ways
There is no satisfaction like your grace

Absolute Sovereign Almighty Love

The heart of God is inexhaustible
A spring of water that bubbles up love
His faithfulness flows like a mountain stream,
Forever flowing from up above.
For his steadfast love is abounding
And His faithfulness is ever new
The resources of his love are not limited,
Day by day they are faithful and true

Chor: Absolute sovereign almighty love
Limitless in power and totally free
Absolute sovereign almighty love
Entrusted to you and to me.
To fill up our deficiency.

So drink at this flowing spring all day,
Though year after year passes by
To generation after generation,
His spring of Love never runs dry.
God has an infinite treasury
Of lavish love our hunger to feed
It spills over as a gift to us sinners
A flood to cover all of our need.

Chor: Absolute sovereign almighty love
Limitless in power and totally free
Absolute sovereign almighty love
Entrusted to you and to me.
To fill up our deficiency.

Bridge:
For the Lord is a God of mercy
The Lord is a God of Great Grace
Slow to anger, abounding in love
And faithful through the end of our race
Till one day we see Him face to face.

Chor:Absolute sovereign almighty love
Limitless in power and totally free
Absolute sovereign almighty love
Entrusted to you and to me.
To fill up our deficiency.

“The Lord, the Lord, a God merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and abounding in steadfast love and faithfulness.” (Exodus 34:6)

The Blessed Battle

Despite our many toils and dangers
We are still aliens and strangers
The world we live in is not our own
Yet we’re to bloom where we’ve been sown

Though we live in the world the war we wage
Is not as  world does-as nations rage
The battle is waged within our souls
We fight with the weapons the Spirit controls

Chorus:
Do not be afraid and do not be dismayed
Tremble not at this great horde,
For the battle is not yours but the Lords
So as we lift our righteous swords
We know the battle is the Lord’s

The weapons of the world cannot win
Against our own indwelling sin
But resurrection power avails
To overcome where our might fails

The weapons of the world cannot begin
To defeat the monarch of dead men.
But Christ has won the victory
And so from Sin we are set free.

Bridge:
Taking captive every thought
A prisoner of the war  that is fought
Not by power, nor by might,
but by the Spirit we fight the good fight

Chorus:
Do not be afraid and do not be dismayed
Tremble not at this great horde,
For the price is not yours to pay
So as we lift our righteous swords
We know the battle is the Lord’s

Bend the Knee (Proskenein)

Surrender to the Righteous One
See your integrity undone
Though bound by self you can be free
But only if you bend the knee.

Before the worthy one bow down
Take up your cross; give Him the crown
Then you shall have the victory
But only when you bend the knee.

Till every knee shall bow And every tongue confess
This world will never know The fruit of righteousness
One day before His throne When prostrate we shall see
We’ll know as we are known ‘Neath Christ’s authority

Give up your weak and poor desires
Embrace the things that Christ requires
Justice, mercy, humility
Are ours if we but bend the knee.

Now set your mind on things above
And bow before His perfect love
The heights of heaven you may see
But only if you bend the knee

Perceive the true reality
With lifted eyes from bended knee
Then you shall have the victory
But only when you bend the knee.
