The Lord of glory was crucified
The plan was set before the foundations
The substitute, He has bled and died
The ransom has secured our salvation
Perfect redemption then was fulfilled
“It is finished”- the One sacrifice cried
And then just as the Godhead had willed
So by the just, sinners are justified
If we believe it, we have received it
No mortal man has conceived it
The wisdom of God is foolish to man
Even this is part of God’s plan
The wisdom of God filled the virgin womb
And thus was born the perfect precious lamb
Who would bring to pass an empty tomb
When raised to resurrection life again
He comes to us to abide in us
Thus the holy mystery is revealed
Death was fin’ly put to death we trust
So by infinite glory we are healed
Bridge
The believing forgiven
Are now bound for heaven
Christ will not lose a one of his own
He who authored their faith
Has extended his grace
To give to them glories unknown
Those who find life in Jesus alone
If we believe it we have received it
No mortal man has conceived it
The wisdom of God is foolish to man
Even this is part of God’s plan
