Whatever it Takes (Help me to Rest in your Grace)

So many times I take the world on my shoulders
I still wander and wonder how I got there
I don’t seem to learn though I am getting older
To cast on You the burdens I never could bear

Teach me, reprove me, Correct me,  and prove me
Holy Spirit make me bold
Help me ferret out every dubious doubt
That manifests as a stronghold
Whatever idols need to be shattered,
Shatter them by your might
My lies need to be broken and battered,
Take them  and set me aright,
Discomfort me, realign me,
Unsettle me, refine me
Whatever it takes to bring me to you face to face
Whatever it takes -help me to rest in your grace.

Tho I may distrust and doubt that God will fulfill
All the promises He has made,
He is faithful to do just what he says he will-
He is not hindered by my weak faith

Teach me, reprove me, Correct me,  and prove me
Holy Spirit make me bold
Help me ferret out every dubious doubt
That manifests as a stronghold
Whatever idols need to be shattered,
Shatter them by your might
My lies need to be broken and battered,
Take them  and set me aright,
Discomfort me, realign me,
Unsettle me, refine me
Whatever it takes to bring me to you face to face
Whatever it takes -help me to rest in your grace.
Whatever it takes
Whatever it takes
Whatever it takes

The Excellencies of His Great Name

We shall sing of the excellence of his glory,
Of a glory mingled with humility.
We will laud his uncompromising justice,
Justice that is tempered with mercy.
We must sing of his absolute transcendence,
Mingled with  his condescending love
We  take courage in his incarnate immanence
And His ever present presence from above

Clothed in a spirit of submission.
In obedience and willingness He came
We sing of sovereign dominion
Over the world he rules and reigns
In all His attributes our Lord is excellent
We sing the excellencies  of His great name!
We sing the excellencies  of His great name!

We admire how worthy he is of all good,
While suffering all evil at men’s hand
We admire the majesty of Christ Jesus
This majesty in meekness — For He is lion and lamb.
We admire how he could still the storm with a word,
yet he refused  to come down from the cross.
Despised the shame for the joy set before Him
And in His poverty He paid our ransoms cost

Clothed in a spirit of submission.
In obedience and willingness He came
We sing of sovereign dominion
Over the world he rules and reigns
In all His attributes our Lord is excellent
We sing the excellencies  of His great name!
We sing the excellencies  of His great name!

The Final Feast

There’s a longing in the soul
That  the Lord alone must fill
He comes and lifts the load
Of the sins he has revealed
Then gladness and gratitude
He infuses  by his grace-
With His very presence in our hearts
The void with hope he will replace

So we delight ourselves in the Lord
And we see our joy increased
As we gaze upon His beauty
We’re moved beyond mere duty
To sup at the soul’s final feast.

At the end of all our days
At the end of our times
The heart longs for God
This our purpose defines
The unspeakable joy
Of knowing His ways
That we might dwell with Him
For our eternal days

Bridge:
With thanksgiving we would enter His gates
Lifting  praises yet unheard
We wait for the Lord, our souls wait,
As we put our hope in His Word

So we delight ourselves in the Lord
And we see our joy increased
As we gaze on His beauty
We’re moved beyond mere duty
To sup at the soul’s final feast.

And joy will be ever increased
As we sup at the soul’s final feast.
This will be glory so complete
In God's presence at His feet.

Oaks of Righteousness

God’s Spirit was poured on the Annointed One
Bearing good news, to the captives He came
He has come the broken hearts to bind
And freedom  to the prisoner to proclaim

He has opened up the prisons
Of the ones who were bound in the night
To declare the time of God’s favor
And God’s vengeance in power and might

He came to comfort those who mourn
And beauty for ashes to to give
To exchange the oil of gladness
For the sadness in which we live.

And so put on the garment of praise
And the spirit of heaviness fain
He has planted you as Oaks of Righteousness
So you may glorify His great name

So you Oaks of Righteousness arise
In  your garments of praise now rejoice
With your heads anointed with gladness
Proclaim the Lord's year with One Voice.

And so put on the garment of praise
And the spirit of heaviness fain
He has planted you as Oaks of Righteousness
So you may glorify His great name

So you Oaks of Righteousness arise
In  your garments of praise now rejoice
With your heads anointed with gladness
Proclaim the Lord's year with One Voice.
