Orphan Child

I was lost when Father found me
Drowning in a world of sin
Put His loving arms around me
Adopted me and took me in.

Out of control in the depths of my soul
Forsaken as His enemy
In spite of my sin He took me in
By the power of Calvary
And now I am set free since my Father adopted me.

An orphan child running wild
Lost as lost could be
He sought me when I dwelt in Sin
How great is my Father’s love – for me

I will sing of my good Father
All I am I owe to Him
Abandoned, derelict, forgotten
A stranger in the night, he took me in

My Father shall KEEP me for I am his child
No more separation, forever reconciled
No longer an alien with Him I will dwell
I’m at home in the courts of His Kingdom as well.

An orphan child running wild
Lost as lost could be
He sought me when I dwelt in Sin
How great is my Father’s love – for me
