Who eats the bread and drinks the wine
In the right spirit, will surely find
A closer communion with the Lord
Oh, to understand Him better and know Him more!
The very sight of the bread and wine
Will humble the soul and serve to remind
How Christ shed his blood as our faithful friend
Nothing less than Christ’s death could pay for Sin
As the bread is broken and the wine is poured
How glad is the soul for what the sign affords
For our redemption, such a price was paid
We have nothing to fear for the payment was made
As the meal is received We are gratified.
It affects the soul as it’s sanctified
We’re reminded we are bound to live for Him
Who died for us and forgave our sins
It’s the cup of salvation that is lifted up
As we eat that bread and drink that cup
Our repentance is deepened , our faith increased
Our holiness strengthened by this Holy Feast
So as we remember the command of the Lord
We will love him better and understand him more
Then in closer communion, we will find
God is feeding the branches of the Living vine
